Our Staff
Our aspiration is to create a maximum love of learning and for the children to know that they are all God’s beloved children. Each classroom involves age appropriate activities to further growth in each child academically, physically, socially, and emotionally.
Director - Vicki Hahn
My name is Vicki Hahn and I am ecstatic this is my third year as Director. My husband Kenneth and I have been married for 34 years and have 4 wonderful daughters as well as 3 grandsons. About 22 years ago, Kenneth and I decided to open Hahn’s Gymnastics. We have loved building and growing the business over the years. We get to inspire and train children of all ages through physical movement and play. Kenneth is now retired from the military. Our family moved back home about 25 years ago. Thanks to being a military family, my family loves to travel. We love to explore other countries, go on cruises and of course go to Disney to visit my favorite cast member (daughter Elizabeth). I also enjoy reading, cooking and painting. Working with children and their families has been my passion and love for most of my life. I enjoy watching them grow, discover, make mistakes, learn from their mistakes and blossom into the person God wants them to be. I am so blessed God has given me this opportunity and look forward to working with all of you.

Ms. Sophia - Teacher assistant
Hi, my name is Sophia, and I am thrilled to be part of the NPK community. I recently moved to the area from NJ where I lived all my life. I have been excited to swap out my NYC skyline view to a view of these beautiful mountains. Back in NJ I was the flute teacher at a private all girls school. I also ran a private teaching studio in the afternoons. In the mornings I was “Ms Sophia,” the Music Together preschool teacher. I absolutely loved singing and dancing with parents and their babies and toddlers, or with teachers and preschoolers at their school. I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, a Masters in Flute Performance, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Music. When not teaching or performing, I enjoy gardening, yoga, reading, and going on long walks with my dog. I also have three children who are tween/teens and I enjoy watching them grow, learn, and pursue their passions.

This is my third year at Nativity Preschool. I have been providing care for young children for 10
years. I have worked with all ages. My husband Rick and I have been married for 20 years. I am a proud mother of four children, Sierra, Miranda, Hanna and Jaxon. I have a granddaughter, Adalynn who is three. I moved here from Florida twenty-five years ago. I have two dogs Izzy and Whiskey. I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family!

Ms. Laurynn - Assistant Teacher
Hi!! My name is Ms. Laurynn. I have four children and one granddaughter. I have worked in both childcare and healthcare for the majority of my career. I am a cat lover and have three at home! I also have a dog named Maci and lots of other little friends always coming and going. I was born on Long Island, NY, grew up in Florida and my family and I moved to North Carolina in 2017. I love to go skating, dancing and I also love crafting! I am so excited to join the Nativity Preschool Family and look forward to a blessed year.

I am so excited to be in the Busy Bees again this year. My husband and I have two children Jackson
who is in middle school and Sydney who is in Elementary. We enjoy spending time outdoors on hikes.

Ms. Rita - Co Lead Teacher
I’m Ms. Rita. I am excited to be returning to NPK for my second year. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and went on to teach general education for six years. In that time, I found that I have a deep love for working with students who learn in different ways, so I got my Master’s in Learning Disabilities from Hunter College and taught special education for the next eight years. My husband and our three kids, the youngest of which is an NPK student, live in Asheville and love exploring the area and hanging out with friends. I am looking forward to a great year of learning and growing in the Shining Stars class!

Ms. Christina - Co Lead Teacher
I’m Ms. Christina and am so excited to return to NPK. I began my time at NPK in early care and
as a substitute teacher. I then moved to lead teacher in the Shining Star’s classroom and feel
very fortunate to be back for another year. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Miami University. I
am originally from Cincinnati, OH but have lived all over the U.S. and even spent time in Europe
as a child. My husband Gene and I have been married for 18 years and have two wonderful
children, three dogs and a hamster. Our family loves traveling and finding new adventures. I am
a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan and an even bigger fan of my girls who also love to play a variety
of sports. I am looking forward to another year at NPK! I love teaching and watching our little
students grow, learn, and gain confidence at this wonderful school.

I am Shannon Kennedy and I have over 10 years of experience teaching Pre-K and working with children of all ages. I started working at Nativity in 2021 and it’s been a joy as well as so much fun to be a part of teaching and preparing children for that next step. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our 2 cats and our little dog Tucker, watching football and spending time with family.

Hello, my name is Virginia Sakkas. I will be the teacher assistant for the Awesome Owls. I have been with NPK for 2 years being a teacher assistant. I am happily married to my wonderful husband of 13 years. I have 2 amazing kids Elena 10 and Angelo 7. On my spare time I love to shop, travel, be outdoors and spend time with my family. I also love working with children and doing crafts. Looking forward to a great year with your children!

Hello, my name is Ruth McBrayer. I grew up and lived in Hendersonville until I got the travel bug. For
many years I lived in different countries teaching English to non-native speakers. Teaching Kindergarten in the U.A.E. was the most enjoyable experience. We returned from living abroad in 2020 to be closer to family. I taught at Hahn’s Gymnastics preschool in 2021 and then transitioned to Nativity. My husband, 8-year-old son and I call Fletcher home. I look forward to helping your child flourish and thrive in school and life.
Ms. Susie - Assistant Teacher
My name is Susie Heath. I love teaching children about God, Faith, and the love of Jesus. I have a background in youth and family ministry (Bachelor of Science in Religious Studies: Christian Education) as well as being a Camp Counselor/Area Director at Lutheridge. I have been a teacher at Nativity Preschool and Kindergarten for several years. Every night, I think about my “God Moments” and they are always about the conversations I have with the students. They are so profound and deep that it always reminds me to have a “childlike” faith. Thank you for blessing me with your children.

My husband Lloyd and I have been married for 28 years and have 3 children. My daughter Caroline is a cardiovascular perfusionist in Nashville, TN and is recently engaged. My son Jack is starting his senior year at NC State. My youngest daughter, Lily, attends Belmont Abbey College where she plays volleyball. This summer we added a sweet English cream golden retriever puppy named Charlie to our empty nest. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology with a minor in Child Development from the University of Arizona. This is my 15th year teaching Pre-K at Nativity Preschool. I feel very fortunate to be able to be a part of your child’s life over the next year and look forward to watching and guiding him or her as he/she takes those important steps toward kindergarten.

Ms. Tracy – Assistant Teacher
I was born and raised in Henderson County, NC. My husband Chris and I have been married for 21 years. We have a 15-year-old son named Brady. He is starting his sophomore year at West Henderson High School. He keeps us very busy with school football, baseball and travel baseball. We have an adorable, 1-year-old, English cream golden retriever named Addie. I worked for 20 years in the medical field in Health Information Management and joined the Nativity Preschool staff in 2022. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading and watching the Atlanta Braves. I am excited to be a part of the Sunshine Kids Pre-K classroom this year and I look forward to helping your children learn, grow and love school.
